Manufacturer's Write Up:
The 'monte' routine has been the preferred weapon of street hustlers for ages. Now, comes the ultimate card hustle with a twist that no one ever sees coming.
Juan Marcos brings you a packet routine in which the spectator must simply follow their selected card amongst a face down ring of seven cards. To make it simple, you turn their selected card face up to make it crazy-easy to follow. In a massive, unexpected twist, EVERY OTHER CARD has now turned to their selected card, and their original selection is now the only losing card in the game.
With only 7 cards in play, they are in full view of the cards face up and down before and after the performance. Audiences have NOTHING when they try to figure this out.
It's a can't-lose, diabolical swindle that will shock every audience you perform for
Your ultimate hustle awaits. It's time to turn the monte routine inside out.
How accurate is the ad copy? I guess it depends on your definition of "sleights" there are moves you need to do and they do require misdirection or cover.
What's in the box? 7 regular playing cards and 1 gaff
- Easy to learn, easy to do
- Instant reset
- No sleight of hand
- Live performances included
- Custom Bicycle gimmicked red Rider back cards included
How are the production values: shot in HD, nice angles, clear teaching
Is it well made: all Bicycle made cards
Is it well taught: nice close up shots, the routine is taught in full however at only 15 minutes you don't get much extra
My thoughts (what I personally liked/disliked): I like the routine of 7 cards changing instead of the normal 3 cards changing. The kicker ending seems so over the top to your spectators! Guaranteed mouth opener!
Storage? Does it "pack flat?" yes, this is a packet trick, only these cards are needed
Does it "play big?" 3 card Monte is a familair plot, so you have immediate audindce recognition without much explanation. The surprise of the 7 cards and the big reveal should level
How practical is this in the real world? (can it really be done?) absolutely, there are some angles but anyone experienced with cards should be able to breeze right through it.
How original is this idea? Grandfathers of invention should be credited: Pepe Carroll Gabi Pareras & Fred Kaps not to mention the striking similarities to N.F.W. from Gary Freed
Overall score: 10/10
